A young digital movies and TV streaming service competing with the likes of Netflix at the time, we needed a campaign that would tell people why we were different and better. In 2013, before the time of their 'Netflix Originals', Netflix had only really old catalogue titles, this enabled them to charge a cheap monthly subscription price. Blinkbox however, got its movie and TV content straight from the cinema, before DVD or blu-ray release and certainly before Netflix. This was our USP against Netflix. We had to cleverly show how our service was different so the 'Fresh from Cinema' campaign was born. The 'F' logo was a play on the British Broadcasting of Film Certification rating you see on films such as U, PG, 12A, 15, 18. It was our stamp across the latest movies you could rent or buy directly from blinkbox. Partnerships with Tesco (part owner) such as movie and pizza nights were created and also really successful.
Blinkbox also had other verticals - digital music and eBooks so a big part of my role was bringing these group brands together into one unified blinkbox brand
